Welcome to Camp Wasaga, located on the South Shore of Clear Lake in beautiful Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba. Since 1974, Camp Wasaga's summer family camp has offered supervised children's programming and both adult and family activities ... on and off the lake.
Camp Wasaga is a loving, caring community where life long friendships are made. Families are allowed time to reconnect with each other away from our busy, over-scheduled world. We believe in the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child" and we are always looking out for the safety and happiness of the children at camp. Fully wheelchair accessible, the camp's home base features 19 private comfortable family cabins, a dining hall for delicious meals and fireside chats, a recreation hall complete with stage and a modern washhouse.
Camp Wasaga has a swim area supervised during swim times and activities by certified lifeguard on staff. Kayaks, canoes and a windsurfer are available in the boating area along with instruction in their safe handling.
Camp offers daily children's activities with morning programs that cater to the creative urges and interests of all children, allowing parents time to pursue their own interests. An experienced staff leads the children in interesting and imaginative activities emphasizing learning and fun in the outdoor environment. Adventures for children abound: nature trails, water fun, games, sports, arts and crafts. During the children's program adult activities include nature hikes with the camp's naturalist, canoe or any number of adventures ... or do nothing at all but relax!
Afternoons are for families. Organize your own activities or join in one of the many programs offered by the staff. Be part of a guided hike into the Boreal Forest, a living marsh, or take in the beauty of it all from the lookout tower. Swim, fish, soak up the sun with a good book or do some exploring. Try out a new craft or safari with the bison.
At days end, enjoy a brilliant sunset by the lake and join in songs and games around the campfire. Take a peek at galaxies beyond with the camp's telescope. Camp Wasaga is accredited by the Manitoba Camping Association.
Note: Through the generosity of the Manitoba Sunshine Fund and Camp Wasaga's bursary program, many economically, socially and physically challenged families have tasted the healing experiences of the outdoors through their first camping adventures.
